Day 68 | A Short Update

Well hello there Kawaii Fitsters! its been 18 days since I last updated its been such a roller coaster ride with me and juggling my schedules. School, work, gym. I cant even blog anymore because i am so filled with too many things. Lesson learned, I will only take up a few subjects next semester so that I have time to do what I want and have to do that is aside from school.

Im sorry this is a very lame and short update. I just stole some time to let you know Im still alive and kicking.  on my next post will be some progress photos.

Day 50 | Joining A Competition

Well hello there Kawaii Fitsters! it is day 50 for me and this is the half way mark of my 100 days. it usually this last half that is always the hardest. So I’m kicking it off by joining this event at our gym. 

So it is a 6 week challenge. roughly about 42-ish days perfect for the remaining time I have on my hands. if i win this I get cash prize which is a big deal for me because that prize money will go to my cosplay this October!!  I NEED MONEY FOR MY COSPLAY! hahahah! So there. I’ll be talking with my trainer about this and I hope he whips my butt some more. I am half way there but I need that extra little push because it seems I have hit yet another plateau. So wish me luck you guys!

Here was my food intake for Day 50:

Breakfast:    2  sunny side ups and red rice, 
Snack:       ramyun (Korean noodles) and a mango smoothie
Lunch:      red rice and creamy chicken with broccoli 
Dinner:     chicken burrito and a surfer’s green smoothie

Do you think I can win that challenge?

Day 49 |Muscle Weighs More Than Fat

Well hello there Kawaii Fitsters! Lara here again with another blog post. So I bought a weighing scale for my birthday… and ever since I have been obsessed with it (sad to say). I have had a very bad relationship with it in the past. It was a great factor in my previous disordered eating a few years ago (which I have gotten over), now it is there to test me and my strength. 

I know a lot of you out there are being controlled by what is written on that scale, but remember IT IS JUST A NUMBER.  I have to keep reminding myself that as well. Since I weight lift, I am much heavier but  my dress size shrinks. Sometimes I still freak out at the higher number on it but I have to remind myself that muscles weigh more than fat. 

Check out these photos for reference. 

As you can see, though their after photos says bigger on the scale, but their bodies are much more lean and toned. HOORAH for muscles. So this serves as a reminder for me and for everyone else, that numbers on the scale aren’t everything. You’ll be surprised to see that though you are “heavier” (says scale-sama) you look better because of muscle growth and tone. :) 

Before I end this post. here is a photo of my lunch in university (yes I have packed lunch just so that I have some semblance of control over my food. And then here is a horrid photo (selfie) of me being all “STAY AWAY FROM ME BECAUSE I AM EATING LUNCH WHILE DOING MY ECON HOMEWORK” heeheehee.

Day 48|Gym is All I Want

I have to be very honest with you all, it has been so hard going on this journey, its been very very SLOW but the results are there. Right now I’m having a bit of a set back because the semester just started and vacation is over. So in the meantime my gym life is at a stand still. I can’t go until I get used to the schedule of my new classes. I need to see which days I am most capable of doing my workouts and at what time is the best for me without compromising school or workouts.  

That being said, everyday that is all i think about. “Gym gym gym gym gym.” I want to go to the gym so badly and I can’t wait for this week and the next week to be over so i can have my fitness life back. So right now Im just focusing on my eating habits (the hardest part of all).  

I’m going to keep this short. I did my first drawing thinga-ma-bob up there!!! eeeheehee I really suck at drawing but Im trying. Thanks to JADE for urging me to do it. Its crappy but cute. :P hahahahaha!

Day 42 |Weight Fluctuations and Junk

Lern to say no to junk food

 Hello people of earth. Its been a week? no… 9 days since my last update and its just right that it is my 9th day with the 68 day challenge with my friend Jade.

So here is an update of what i was up to and what has been happening between the 9 days I have been inactive.

Last week i have been preparing for a Comic Convention in Iloilo City, an island close by. I wrote a blog post about it here on my cosplay and craft blog.

I have yet to write about the second day of that convention. But basically that is what i have been preparing for and then right after the Iloilo Comic Convention 2014 I  had to start my enrollment process for this semester. So basically it has been busy. But here is a brief overview of my weigh fluctuations the past week(s)

I know these are very close intervals and frankly speaking I’m not really that keen on measuring my weight on an almost daily basis. But as you can see the fluctuations are CRAZY. And it all reflects on how much junk I’ve eaten or how clean and good I’ve been with my diet. IT ALL SHOWS. 

As for body fat I haven’t measure that out yet because I want to only do that every month. :) 

So to be completely honest with you. I have been a very naughty eater during the 3 days i was away for the convention and right now, this week, is focused on getting back to my healthy habits so wish me luck. :)

ps. the photo of the day is made by JADE. I shared with her my story and frustrations with a certain Filipino brand of chip (fake pork rinds) called Mang Juan… I love those so much and every time I wanna eat junk, it is that particular kind I want, but every time I have it.. it is a battle of willpower. heeheehee. But I am learning to say no, little by little.

Day 34 |My Fitness Soul Mate

My good friend Jade from Jade On A Diet and I have been friends since back in our awkward days. 15 We lost touch when we moved to different countries but was reunited because of weightloss and fitness. Both of us are nearly the same in several aspects but what really unites us is our battle of the bands.. I mean.. bulge. 10 

So last weekend we talked about becoming accountability partners and doing the whole weight loss/fitness thing together. 16 Her goal is to lose weight and fat. My goal is to lose the fat and gain muscles.  Our goal is to be able to go as far as we can before August. Why August? Because for her she has a trip this August, and for me I start putting together my cosplay on August. 

We started, Monday our times, May 26th and the end date is on the 1st of August hence the 68 day challenge. I’m still sticking to my current countdown. It still matches since my 100 day countdown also ends in August 1st. 

So our action plan?

To always “bug each other”. To track what we eat everyday. To make sure we do our workouts for the day and encourage each other. Make it into a friendly competition because a little rivalry is healthy *wink wink*13

I will be making a separate page/entry, recording our collective journey there. Then I will publish it on the 1st of August.

She will be doing her pilates and I will continue my training at the gym.

100 Days To Cosplay Phisique Feat. Mirajane


Motivation of the day:

Food Log:

Breakfast: Boiled Cardava banana 2 pcs and 1/2 serving of Arrozcaldo

Lunch: 1/2 cup rice, 1 chinese spring roll, 1/4 chicken breast soup, 1/4 serving bitter gourd

Snack: 1 lumpiang ubod, 3 chocolate chip cookies, 2 egg cakes by FuFu’s kawaii cooking studio

Dinner: 2pcs of chicken

Water: [1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9]

Workout Log:

Muay Thai and Circuit = 2 hours total

Greetings everyone! Yes! I’m finally back from the dead and Im back for more “pushing myself to be better.” Things have been so hectic lately and I’m just so glad that I am finding my footing once again. Now lets get down to business shall we?

I like to work on myself one goal at a time to avoid getting discouraged.  I have managed to reach some of my goals but not yet all since I keep adding to them. 

Now, as some of you may or may not know, one of my hobbies is cosplaying. Yes I like to dress up in costumes and pretend to be a character from a japanese cartton or anything or anyone fictional.  This year I challenged myself to cosplay one of my favourite Fairy Tail characters, Mirajane.

Why did I chose this version? Well it is a challenge in both phisical and craft wise. But here on this blog I will be focused on the Physical aspect of this challenging cosplay. 

I chose mirajane because we are so very similar in many ways. First of all she is the eldest just like me. She has two siblings, and I have 2 too. We are both very sweet in nature and is eay to get along with. But when you piss us off… well that is a whole other story. Body wise, she is not stick thin nor are her proportions out of this world. Yes we have the same body type; curvy, big bewbs, shapely ass and thighs. So I think it really is perfect. The only difference is, I need to lose a little bit more around the waist so that i can bare my midriff like in the photo. 13  

So that is my goal, to be mirajane ready in 100 days. 

What steps am I going to take in order to achieve said goal?

Clean eating (logging everything down)
weight training and lotsa cardio

Yeah.. that is basically it. 10
